The HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

The Hospitality Committee is responsible for fellowship time after each service held on Sunday.  This is a time for members and visitors to congregate, visit and enjoy light snacks and a beverage.  This is a successful venture because of the generous donation of food and time by members of the Donegal congregation.

We serve “FAIR TRADE” coffee and tea at these gatherings, and sell these products to support farmers around the world, paying them a fair wage for their crops.  A collection can is placed near the coffee during Lent for those who choose to contribute towards this annual cost.

The Hospitality Committee serves refreshments and meals at other times during the year, but for each Sunday, they rely on members of the congregation to sign up to do this once a year.

HOSPITALITY 101

Everything you'll ever need to know about hosting the FELLOWSHIP TIME

First, IT IS EASY!

Now for the details:

Things you don't need to do or bring:

  1. Coffee will be brewed and ready to go -- (Thank you Joy Boys!)

  2. Table cloth is provided and on the table.

  3. Napkins, plates, and cups are provided and located under the table.

  4. Serving baskets are provided and located under the table. (If you need more than 3, please let Leo know.)

  5. If you plan on bringing your own platters or baskets please choose disposable type as our storage space is extremely limited.

Things you do need to do or bring:

  1. Sign up -- PLEASE! (Sign up sheet is located on the hospitality table)

  2. Plan to provide a light snack for approximately 120 members of the church family and visitors.  (This is for BOTH services.  Please tidy up for the second service.)

  3. Please keep the snacks easy and simple -- notice the EASY theme.  Cookies, pretzels, crackers are just some suggestions -- please refrain from any sticky, gooey or messy snacks.

  4. Also bring 1 quart of half & half or milk, for the coffee, and 2 gallons of a cold beverage of your choice (juice, lemonade, iced tea)

Notice?   There are more things you don't have to do than things you have to do to host fellowship time.

If this is your first time to host fellowship and would like to partner up with one of the hospitality members or if you have any questions, please feel free to call Leo Balzereit 653-8475.

The Hospitality Committee thanks you!  Joanne Myers is chairperson and is very ably assisted by Judy Weidman, Jodi Musser, Matt McGough, Leo Balzereit, Althea Johnson and Melody Nissley.
